Indian Wedding Photographer Auckland

There’s nothing quite like an Indian wedding. The colours, the music, the energy, the deep traditions — it’s a celebration that truly has it all.

We’ve had the privilege of photographing Indian weddings across Auckland, and every single one has blown us away. From the laughter at the Haldi to the emotion during the pheras, it’s a day (or usually, a few days!) filled with unforgettable moments.

Our goal? To capture it all — the love, the chaos, the beauty, the family — in a way that feels real and timeless.

We’ve had the honour of photographing and filming beautiful celebrations at some of Auckland’s most loved venues for Indian weddings - Markovina Estate. This venue are amazing at hosting cultural weddings and provide stunning backdrops for both photos and video.

Why Indian Weddings Are So Special to Photograph

If you’ve ever been part of an Indian wedding, you know it’s not just one event — it’s a series of meaningful celebrations that bring everyone together.

That’s what we love most about them. Each tradition has a story behind it, and we make sure those stories shine through your photos.

We learn your traditions first.

No two Indian weddings are the same. We take the time to understand your customs — whether it’s a Sikh Anand Karaj, a Hindu ceremony, or a fusion wedding — so we can anticipate the moments that matter.

We stay present and invisible.

You’ll hardly notice us, but we’ll be everywhere — quietly capturing everything from the big moments to the tiny details you might miss.

We balance art and authenticity.

We love the real stuff — the emotions, the laughter, the imperfections — but we also care about giving you stunning, frame-worthy portraits.

We respect your space.

Some moments are sacred, and we know when to step back. Our approach is always to photograph with understanding and respect.

What a Typical Indian Wedding Day Looks Like

Of course, every couple is different — but here’s how we often see the day unfold:

  1. Getting ready – The calm before the celebration. We capture those intimate, family moments — laughter, nerves, and all.
  2. Pre-wedding rituals – Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet — full of colour, energy and joy. Some of our favourite moments come from here.
  3. The ceremony – Whether it’s in a temple, a mandap, or a venue, we photograph every ritual and emotion with care.
  4. Couple portraits – Once things slow down, we sneak away for a few quiet minutes. Just you two, soaking it all in.
  5. The reception – Speeches, dances, laughter, food, and family fun. It’s the perfect ending to an incredible celebration.
